I have been collecting Strawberry Shortcake for the past 15 years, not counting the ones that I had as a child. It all started when I was at a swap meet with my parents and found the Peach Blush holding a fan mini. I bought it for .50. I then started recollecting anything Strawberry Shortcake from flea markets, thrift shops and garage sales. It was so much fun to discover all of the things that I never knew existed. I really thought I was the only one that was bananas over Strawberry Shortcake but had often wondered if there was anyone else out there. Then I discovered ebay in November of 1997 and was tickled to see there was actually a Strawberry Shortcake category and the buying began. I was thrilled to see there were other collectors and can hardly believe how many others share this common interest today as that red head is growing in popularity and value.
I met my husband in June of 1995 at Walmart in the toy section. No, I was not buying toys
(lol), besides they didn't sell Strawberry Shortcake back then. I had my then, 7 year old niece with me and he had his then, 3 year old niece with him. We said it was 'destiny' that we met. We married in 1997 and in December of 2000, our little girl, Destiny, was born. She was joined by a baby brother in November of 2004, Dustin.
We are third generation owners of Lakeview Resort in Sunrise Beach, MO. It is the largest resort on the west side of the lake with 80 cottages and condos ranging from studios to 6 bedroom. It is on the Sunrise Beach side of the lake which is on the opposite side from our house. We often take a boat to work which is a short 5 minute drive versus driving 25 minutes to the bridge to go across. I am a stay at home mom all winter and most of the spring and summer doing my paperwork at home. I work weekends only in the summer which are our check in days.
We live at Lake of the Ozarks 'the midwest coast' in central Missouri. My family moved there when I was just 3. My husband was born and raised there also, but suprisingly we didn't know each other until we met in 1995. We reside in the Village of Four Seasons on the Lake Ozark side of the lake. Our house is 50 feet from the lake so you could say we have a huge backyard of fun. .
